Three rain harvesting and solar panel market projects in the Levuka, Savusavu and Nakasi markets are expected to be completed by the end of this year.
This was recently confirmed by Ministry of Local Government senior administration officer Usaia Korodrau while delivering the ministry’s 2018-2019 annual report before the Standing Committee on Social Affairs.
He said this in response to queries from Home Affairs Assistant Minister and standing committee member Ratu Rakuita Vakalalabure.
Mr Korodrau said all three projects were in the construction phase. “The Levuka market project we are looking at completing by July this year,” he said.
“The Savusavu market we are looking at towards the end of the year (2023) and the Nakasi project is also the same we are also looking at November 2023.”
Ministry of Local Government permanent secretary Seema Sharma said the rain harvesting and solar panels were part of the ministry’s green initiative project.
