Swire Shipping Fijian Drua player Kalaveti Ravouvou hopes to finish off his last home game for the 2023 Shop N Save Super Rugby Pacific season with a win against the Reds.
Ravouvou, who will join the Bristol Bears after this season said he is grateful for the opportunity given to him by the staff and management of the Nadi-based side and said he will play to the best of his ability today.
“I want to thank the coaching panel and the Drua staff for all they’ve done to get me where I am today, to be a part of this wonderful team,” said the 24-year old who will turn a year older in three days.
“I’d like to also thank my family in Nadroumai for always supporting me and to my mother, for moulding me to become the person I am today.
“I am looking forward to playing as it will be my last home game in Drua colours. “I believe in the decision from the coaches to put me at wing and I will not let them down.”
He is vying for a spot in Simon Raiwalui’s Fiji Water Flying Fijians spot for the Rugby World Cup later this year and hopes his performances today will impress the head coach.
“The goal for me is to hopefully make it into the RWC squad but all that will depend on how I play and perform here tomorrow (today),” he said.
“That’s the dream for me and I will want to achieve it.”
