Former Wallabies great Lote Tuqiri says he is excited to watch his first-ever Swire Shipping Fijian Drua game live and is expecting a quality display of rugby when the men in blue take on the Reds in their last home game here in Fiji at the HFC Bank Stadium in Suva.

“Just from watching their games on television, seeing them pulling off huge upsets against some of the giant teams in the Super Rugby competition has me excited as I watch them play for the first time live,” the former winger said.

Tuqiri, who is often labeled as one of the best wingers in the world, has represented Australia in both rugby league and rugby union.

“It’s always nice being back home, and I just can’t wait for the Drua and Reds clash to kick start tomorrow (today).”

Tuqiri said the Reds would be coming out full force today when they faced the Drua, as they are also vying for a spot in the quarter-finals of the Shop N Save Super Rugby Pacific season.

“This will probably be one of the toughest games for both teams this season, as both teams will be fighting for a spot in the quarter-finals. So of course, I’m expecting a very tough match between the two.”

Tuqiri said the Fijian Drua would no doubt be backed by their vocal fans, who would fill the HFC Bank Stadium in Suva today.

“The Drua fan base here in Fiji is just amazing.

“This will be a huge boost for the Drua as they will be playing with emotion, while their fans cheer them on throughout the match.”
