The family members of Swire Shipping Fijian Drua player Kalaveti Ravouvou came out in numbers to watch their son play his last home game for the Nadi-based side as they beat the Reds 41-17 at the HFC Bank Stadium.
Ravouvou’s uncle, Mesake Lalai said it was pleasing to see his nephew play his heart out for his home team as the 24-year old is headed to the Bristol Bears at the end of the season.
“We left our village of Nadroumai at 9 to come and support Kalaveti in his last home game for the Drua today (yesterday),” said Lalai.
“We hired a bus to come and witness him play and we are happy with his performance and how they’ve secured a place in the quarter finals.
“We’ve been to all their home games to support him and we are happy with how rugby has taken him to places.
“He has always loved playing rugby since he was a young kid and we will always support him wherever he plies his trade professionally.”
Ravouvou scored the Drua’s second try and capped off the game with a memorable win that will go down in rugby’s history books.
